What V&A Zevgolis does

V&A Zevgolis is a place where collectors catalogue their exlibris, swap and sell them with each other, and open them to researchers.

V&A Zevgolis never buys or sells exlibris and is not a party to any swap or sale. Members agree swaps and prices between themselves, and settle payment and postage directly.

Swapping and selling

• You swap and sell at your own risk. Describe every exlibris honestly, including its condition, technique code and whether it is signed.
• A rating can only be left after a swap completes, and says one plain thing: received as described, received but short, or never arrived.
• New members can have up to 3 open swaps until 3 swaps complete.
• Collectors with repeated low ratings are paused from swapping automatically.

What you may not offer

• Reproductions presented as original prints, or prints whose technique or signature you know to be misdescribed.
• Anything you do not own or have no right to give away.
• Stolen items, or items taken from a public library or archive.
• Images or text that are hateful, harassing or unlawful.

How to report a problem

• On any swap, sale or message, choose Report a problem. A moderator reads the messages, the rounds and any tracking reference.
• While a report is open, ratings on that swap are frozen. The moderator closes it with an outcome, or sends the swap back to the hand-off.
• A report made in bad faith counts against the person who made it.

Your content and copyright

• You keep the rights in your photographs and your catalogue text. The artist keeps the copyright in the design of each exlibris.
• When you make a record public, its catalogue data (not the image) is shared as open data under CC0 so researchers can cite and reuse it.
• Images are shown for study. A download is offered only where the image is free of copyright or the artist agreed.

Your account

You can export everything you catalogue and all your personal data at any time from Settings.

If you delete your account, your records, photos and collections are deleted. On completed swaps you appear as a former member, so other collectors keep the ratings they earned.
